If they wanted to express an opinion they would have said something more worthwhile than '/support'. That's not an opinion.
Ok, so telling someone that you agree with them isn't an opinion.
Just like how voting isn't an opinion.

this is almost as dumb as complaining that people say "lol" instead of "laugh out loud"

What so wrong about saying it?

No, he's not. I'm not sure if you understand what context is, but using 'lol' and '/support' are in no way similar.

he's actually right
I'm not going to explain something already explained possibly multiple times in this topic.

I personally find people's opinions on various topics interesting. Quoting a post they agree with or saying /support seems like a a very efficient way to put an agreeing opinion out there, and anything more would be superfluous.

"I absolutely agree with you OP.  I feel that this type of response does not warrant any attention nor does it contribute anything to the discussion on hand.  I hope that many others feel the same way."

It won't hurt to write more than "I agree" and explain why, not targeting you at all, just saying.
/support

Please stop. If you have nothing worthwhile to contribute to a discussion, and you are simply quoting someone else's post, don't even bother.

Seriously, this was uncalled for. Don't let one word rage you.
