They'll have to invent a completely new system before they scrap greenlight, I think there's a good chance we'll get greenlit before then (valve time)
At least, I hope so

Yeah, you have to realize that once they finally declare that greenlight is being canceled, that you have to wait in valve time after the declaration. There could be like 8 or 9 approval processes before greenlight is shut down.

Badspot should really do more marketing. There isn't even an official Facebook page, and I think there should be. He should also update the blog and the Youtube channel more often. (he could make a blog post about a featured build of the month or something - just find something good looking from Gallery) I'm not sure how Twitter works but maybe a Twitter campaign as well?

What position are we in now anyway?

If I remember correctly, I think it's 21, but I could be wrong.

Btw, how many people do you think will do a review of this game on youtube when it gets greenlit?

I'd say 5 to 10 will review Blockland for sure when it's greenlit.

There are other long-running Blockland Facebook groups which are relatively successful.
And all they generally do, is post messages about new updates. I can't see much more actual benefits coming about if Badspot (or a trusted moderator) were to run one himself and just do the same.

Blog posts about good builds would be pretty nice, and if advertised properly, and if the absolute best were chosen, they'd make great advertisments. But, it is some time out of Badspot's schedule. I can't say if he's a busy man or not, but if he doesn't seem to be able to make the time, then he can't.
And it would be nice to have a trusted moderator do so, but the same rule applies, and you also have to question their prejudice, if they have any.
Not meaning to cause an argument, but if Ephialtes were to control the blog, and someone like Kalphiter or other people who aren't friendly with Ephi, were to make something massive and brilliant and most forum users recommend it's upload to the blog, there's always the chance that Ephi might ignore that for personal reasons. Which will only cause unnecessary bickering and arguing.
People moan enough when Ephi deletes posts. I hate to see how much they moan if he ignores the community's choice on purpose out of spite or what not. People would only make Drama topics and post inflammatory comments on the blog. Which isn't good advertising.

Basically, the whole idea of choosing the best builds, in such a small community as ours, is always going to have some degree of bias. Which is why there have been so many unsuccessful member-made blogs and "newspapers" and whatnot.
I'd like to see it happen, but I'm a little bit sceptical of the idea.

The Twitter account, I see no reason for.
Basically, I can only see it as Badspot posting when he has an update, or perhaps if he changes something on Badspot's Block Party.
And you can generally find these things out by just playing the game or visiting the forums/website.
I don't quite see how it would create new interest in Blockland.

afaik they're not completely axing greenlight, they're reworking it afaik

I just hope they are actual reviews that show off the game and how good it can be.

If we had a the Terrain generator working and implemented in the game, it would be alot better. Building good terrain takes a while. :/

Im mostly afraid the person reviewing it will just make a 20 minute video focused on the default gamemodes and say "This game does not have much to offer."

Oh god that would be horrible

I just imagined someone who didn't know how to play the game reviewing it.

"Ya this game uh, you cant really do much. I mean its got guns and you can place bricks down to build things, but the gamemodes are so small and boring."

asdgh

shivers man, shivers...

I don't think they'd be that dumb. I mean, it's pretty hard to miss the giant "Join a Game" button. I hope they realize that multiplayer is a huge part of Blockland.

I hope they don't realize that there are no good/original servers.
