how big do i make face decals and shirt decals?

how big plz i gots a facedecal and now i im gonna make a shirt one but how gig should they be. im using gimp if you want to know

The actual decal should be 256x256 pixels in size.
The decal ICON should be 64x64 pixels in size.

If you want to make transperancy in GIMP, do the following:
1. Right click on your main layer (flatten all layers if you haven't saved as a .png yet)
2. select Add Alpha Channel.
3. use the magic wand or the color picker, and select all of your white or whatever background color you have.
4. Use the fill bucket, with fill transperancy on, and Fill all selection on.
5. Save.
6. Done.
