it's more a '"computed" instrument'

i can't quite explain what it is, but it is not a generic sound effect. this would imply it is a sound clip instead of something that's generated

it definitely sounds like the printer, but I can almost guarantee that it's not just a sound sample. to me it just sounds like a simple square sine with a brief downshift in pitch, can be created in almost any VST.
