"Plane won't hold for much longer. I'm heading back to base."
The rocket launches successfully, putting the satellite into a stable orbit.
-About 20 minutes later-
"Tower, this is Talon 1-1, requesting emergency landing permission."
"What is your status, Talon?"
"Port engine is on fire, and I'm slowly losing control."
"Permission granted, Talon."
"Thank you."
I come about 30 feet above the runway when my port wing snaps off.
"stuff!"
My plane spirals out of control and slams into the ground tail first. Fortunately, it was only 10 meters, and I was at 1/5 thrust. My plane skids for about a half a mile, then snaps at the midsection, destroying the fuel tanks and causing a damaging explosion. As a result, my ears start ringing. My plane finally comes to a halt, a burnt crisp being all that remains. I get out, hear the emergency sirens, and stumble about 50 feet away before blacking out.
