"family values" - the whole supposed meaning behind it is stupid, since when did disliking or disagreeing with homoloveuality equate to fear? every time i see this, it's always being used as an insult, as if it's supposed to make the person being insulted look like some little kid who's afraid to get his life-saving shot at the dentist. i just hate it when people use it. it shouldn't even exist. or while you're at it, might as well conjure up "christophobia" to use as a label to slap on people who are athiests or "Riddlerphobia" to slap on jewish people. why don't we get back to using the word "phobia" the way it's supposed to be used, instead of for making political insults? it makes perfect sense for actual things, like arachnophobia. phobias used to be used to describe natural fears that actually impede people's lives, like claustrophobia; now they're used to insult people and describe how "mean" and "horrible" they are. the only reason "phobia" is slapped on stuff like this is because it apparently makes the person recieving the description look stupid and afraid, like they're some sort of wimp. like, you've got to be kidding me. i don't have many words that bug me but this one i really can't stand seeing, mostly because how improperly and stupidly used it is.
"antidisestablishmentarianism" - just plain dumb, some english teacher was obviously really bored and had some time on his hands
there's also some restuarant with the name "kinkies" or something. seriously its the worst and dumbest name for a restuarant i have ever heard.
