Author Topic: My knee went out?  (Read 359 times)

So for the past three or four years my knee has always been giving me issues, so about two months after I noticed the pains and aches, I went to the doctor with my step mother and the lady doctor told us it was more than likely growing pains and/or dehydration of the joint.  I had been drinking a bit of soda, as well as I was in the stage of growing.

Well for about a year the were completely gone, around the time school started up, a little bit before this, my knees were starting to give me that grinding feeling again, and hurt a little here and there.  I decided to suck it up and not tell anyone, but a week or so ago the pain has been turning at times pretty bad. Being pinched in the soft part of your arm is about the same amount of pain.

Then today, I went to take out the trash via our Utility Vehicle, which has a bed and two seats.  I only use this because our driveway is around 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile.  I typically put one foot on the tailgate, then hoist myself into the bed with my other foot and empty the barrels off the side of the utility vehicle.  I put my foot on the tailgate, and starting lifting up my other foot.  About when my foot was halfway from the ground to the tailgate the knee of the leg supporting me completely gave out.  This is the knee that I have had problems with before.

So now I'm sitting here with my knee wrapped up in an ice-bag in excruiting pain, it hurts horribly to attempt to even move it the slightest, and I'm not sure what is my problem.  I obviously know to go see a doctor, which I'll be doing tomorrow.  But is there any suggestions as to what it might be?  And/or anything I should do?

Tl;dr I broke my knee.  What should I do.

try doing some stair sets or jumping off of things
or parkour

Cross country, not joking.

If you broke your knee, you should see a doctor immediately, not tomorrow.
