Save cut my building in half

So I was building my first large scale thing, a scyscraper in the bedroom, and I just finished the first floor and a construcion crane, so I saved and left. Then I came back, loaded, and oddly an entire wall was missing from the tower. Like half of it was cut off. Each time I loaded it the same thing happened. Am I doing something wrong?

It probably didn't finish saving, but this sort of thing only happens when you go over the brick limit, and must load two saves.

Hmmm, I didn't have that many bricks, only a hundred or so.
