why isn't there shading?
There is minimal shading, look harder.
a. your master would take anything magic that you buy. Unless he won't because doing so is handicapped and you are deadly enough without it.
b.no one can see who you are. you have a robe on.
c.im pretty sure if there happens to be an armory in town people wouldn't find it suspicious that you have a weapon.
You'd think that your master wouldn't mind you learning a few basic things. Unlike a physical weapon, you're less likely to cause any wariness.

The intensity of the thought will determine how powerful the fireball will be, to a variable extent.
