Again, that foul smell of decay begins to drift around the swamp, being accompanied by a metallic mist. The dragon frantically looked for any way to escape, but unfortunately the mysterious suit of armor summoned his zombies much too close. Attempting to run would only result in them taking a bite out of him. The same feeling of hopelessness fell over the dragon. Why did I ever choose to leave the comforts of my home? And yet, there’s still a bit of light within a corner of his mind. If he was saved by Noxia, he’ll be saved again. If only she knew where he was though. Trying his wings, the dragon found it improbable that he could lift himself up. With every passing second, the rotten zombies shambled closer, coughing, drooling and staring with what they had left of their eyes. Giving up on escaping, the dragon attempted to fight the nearest two. They were however, surprisingly fragile. With a swift slash with both of his claws, he managed to dismember two of them. The suit of armor only laughed as the skeletal figures regenerated their limbs from beneath the ground. Any time now. The dragon continued to stomp on the skulls to prevent them from rising up, but with each zombie downed, another one and part of the next begins to emerge from the sludge-covered grass. The air had become so polluted with the silvery, smelly haze that he coughed between every cut and punch he made. Eventually, the dragon wheezed and the area in front of him was displaced by a cloud of green gas. Upon contact, the zombies start to melt and sink back into the swamp. Little by little, the fog has lifted and the dragon collapsed onto his knees, exhausted but not quite knocked out. Looking ahead of him he noticed the the suit of armor had vanished, leaving an evanescent trail of dust. A voice sounded out from a bushel of tall grass, and the dragon let out a sigh of relief. “I had a feeling that something wasn’t right when I first saw you buddy.” Carson the cappo hopped towards the dragon. “The Disease didn’t touch you did it?” He shook his head after realizing that he didn't even go any closer than a foot away. “He just sent his zombies to attack me, and what do you mean by that?” The cappo looked just as relieved and placed himself on a decomposing log. “It seems like that cobalt actually helped, somewhat. As soon as you appeared, the movement pattern of The Disease began to take a turn. I assumed that it wanted you for some reason, but it could never physically get near the rocky forest path because of the abundance of cobalt. Dragon huh? Good to see another one so soon, and a poison one too.” The dragon tilted his head. Was that why I was able to dissolve those zombies? “You see, poison dragons are not only resistant to the decaying effects of The Disease, but also combat it through acidic attacks. The suit of armor you saw was the actual embodiment, made of several basic compounds.” “Gee, and I thought Cody was the smart one.” “We all have our own specialties, it’s how we've been living in this forest for so long.” “I see, can you perhaps take me back to the clearing?” “Absolutely, follow me!”
