Author Topic: Got my computer back today  (Read 1080 times)

It broke last week and couldn't boot, even in safe mode. Luckily it was under a warranty, so after trying for a full day to find and fix the issue, I sent it in.

I got it back today. Turns out they had to replace the hard drive (I'm so glad I had BL backed up oh my god). But now I have to reinstall everything I had on there, which is probably about 200GB worth. Ohhhhhh boyyyyy.

Next time I get a computer, I'm building it. Too bad that won't be any time soon.

Discuss or something idk

forget, man.

I have like, 300GB of stuff on mine. IDK what I'd do without it, though.

Look at the bright side...

All of those waste-of-space files you could never find/were too lazy to delete are gone now.

Installed so far:
Avast!
Google Chrome
Steam
Dropbox

Blockland will be installed once dropbox finishes syncing it.

My steam library has challenged me to a duel.

Yes, but I have to reconfigure EVERYTHING

1. Wait till warranty ends.
2. Spill water on it.
3. Tell your mother the water fell or something
4. ???
5. Profit.

How is that profit at all? First off, I'd be able to sell this one to go towards a new one.
Secondly, this computer has bad specs. My family bought me this after I asked for a computer that I can use for average gaming for almost 3 years.
To get an idea of the specs, I get 5-10 fps on L4D2 with all lowest settings.

So no, steps 1-5 are handicapped.

>implying adults are capable of understanding what a gaming computer is

and setro's known to be handicapped

Won't build my own until I am 18 or find some other way to get out of this roadblock while building a computer: My dad's forgetful, computer-knowledgeless brain

yeah i learned my lesson

How does your dad's computer knowledge affect your ability to build computers?

lessonHow does your dad's computer knowledge affect your ability to build computers?

Because parents who don't know things instantly think their kids know even less about the subject for some reason.

EDIT: not kidding

because my dad was a richard at dell support and almost got us banned from the hotline because they were nitwits who couldn't fix a rare and uninformative blue screen of death WITHOUT A STOP CODE

the computer that was bluescreened got salvaged and everything except for the mobo is boxed, even the Pentium 4 CPU.

EDIT: not kidding
universal truth^

Except grandmas who call a family member before they even consider tech support and explain the problem with no detail

That's actually too true.  Happens to me all the time.
