Actually I believe it was pretty obvious that it was an expression of anger and disgust.

Alot of people just blew it out of proportion and used it as argument fuel.

I don't think he should be executed for killing the dogs but saying human life is more valuable than other animals is a biased point of view.

I think why people get so upset when people do stuff like this is because people hate people.

Generally people tend to like animals, but don't really care for others (Im being very general here)
And because humans can think much more clearly and was able to control his actions in the situation.
