Author Topic: why does everyone give a stuff about 9/11  (Read 2089 times)

yes but who mourned Chernobyl or Hiroshima?
well, I wasn't alive for Chernobyl, and don't really know what happened, so that makes it a lot less important to me, especially considering I don't know how many people died or how they died. so I just don't really feel like it's important

but I saw a whole movie on Hiroshima, and about four million people died from melting, vaporizing, and radiation poisoning. I almost cried, especially because the movie was written by a survivor, who was only seven years old when the bomb exploded.

9/11 was something that happened when I was only 1 year old, and I already mourned my self over that after everyone else did. Now, I find it hard to think of a time when I cried over anything, except for Jesus. I loving bawled my face off and put it on backwards.

My point is Americans are usually rude towards people talking about how they dont care about 9/11
I was using him as an example
Because they are permitted to be?

I understand the national urgency of the issue at the time, however, it's seriously OK now.

You're giving the terrorists what they want. Terror. That's why they're called terrorists.

The fault lies with the people who initially made a bigger deal of it than others, setting a precedent of it.

Now everyone is expected to share the interest in following that precedent or something, even though it's a pretty dumb one.

As we speak people in Syria are getting slaughtered.
Does anyone give a stuff?
No.

God damn america.

It was a tragic event that happened within most of our lifetimes, of course were going to care. Eleven years isnt as long as you think it is, Ill give it another ten or twenty before people stop caring so much. Its not really anything to bitch about, if you aggravates you that much that people get offended by your jokes or whatever then get over it or make new friends.

maybe because both sides are combatants and one of them is a loving dictatorship, UNLIKE these USA?

The USA, that nice little country that sends it's soldiers to kill little brown kids in the Middle East.

We've lost 2/3 the amount of 9/11 deaths in US soldiers since the "war on terror" started 11 years ago. We make up for a tragedy by getting more people killed.

YAY WAR

It doesn't matter how long its been some people still care about it.
Oh course I don't care much for it although I feel bad for the families affected.

I personally don't give a crap.
I mean, I know it was tragic and 3,000 died, CIVILIANS, mind you, not military forces, but sheesh. We were so unprepared, it's our fault for not keeping our air defense as good as it was when the Cold War ended. We just need to be prepared for if this happens again.

yeah what kalp said, it actually makes it more painful that we knew about it.

oh whew i seriously thought i was the only one who thought this way

in fact the op is what i think every time it gets close to 9/11
i can name endless wars and stuff that 5 times as many people have died in.
i mentioned this to some of my friends and no one agreed with me.
