I think Glass himself is paying for the server and he's only using his father as a proxy to buy the server, as Glass is underage. I have no doubt that Glass will be able to handle this, and push comes to shove, Evar and I can pick up the bill until something is worked out.

Realistically though, would you? I doubt it. I agree, a hosting service is a nice project to work on, but wait until you have enough financial security to run it.

I think between the three of us we can gather $20 apiece for a few months to finance the server until we get some clients. I think that we'll start out with preordered clients paying right at start up. After that, the price we'll have to pay per month will keep getting lowered until there's none left, and eventually breaking even or even making a small profit. I actually believe that Glass has noted that he makes around $300 a month from various chores, and I think that's enough to pay for a $68/m dedicated server. you're running it for 2 cheap. you need like 15 people to make a profit on this, and kalphiter has 23 and it took him 2 years to get that. how long you think it's gonna take you guys to get that many?what about server management? does evar know how to create a remote console system?

It depends on what you were you thinking for the price. Of course I'll have to talk to Glass and Evar about this, but still.

EDIT: I believe we'll use Jeep's server setup for this, but if you have something that completely blows us away we'll be happy to pay.
