Author Topic: Firewire 800 to USB?  (Read 733 times)

Recently I got a FreeAngent GoFlex upgrade cable and I wasn't sent the right one and now I need an adapter (or I could send it back but I'm not going to do that just yet) but I can't seem to find one on the internet.

Can anyone help me? I would really like to get my external HD working again soon.

It's in the garden gnomes isle so you can kill two birds with one stone

I Googled "Firewire 800 to USB" and the first link I got was from www.usbfirewire.com.

Their products take 6 pin, so you could then buy this to make the 9 pin of the 800 (if I'm correct) to 6 pin.

I can't seem to find firewire 800 to USB either.

I guess I could get a 800 to 600/400 then a 400 to USB because I know those exist.

I'm wondering why there is no direct converter. Is the 800 new? Maybe its just a matter of time.

people still use firewire?

Not all computers will accept Firewire

USB 3 > IEEE1394/FireWire 800 > USB 2.0 > IEEE1394/FireWire 400 > USB 1.1

USB 3 < IEEE1394/FireWire 800 < USB 2.0 < IEEE1394/FireWire 400 < USB 1.1
What?
