** This may sound like a rant, but im tired of the Army getting forgeted up because of lack of training! This video proves they need more training****As a Former Marine with two combat tour under my belt. All I can say is this guy is not trained well enough for his deployments, which happens to a lot of soldiers.First I have no idea why this guy thinks he is rambo or a one man army. He is the only guy in the area (obviously should of been a fireteam), only guy firing back, on a OPEN mountain side with no cover, and stops way to often while searching for cover. Its no surprise to me this idiot got shot in my view. Its not fully his fault, I would be looking at his NCO's for stuff like this happening. Poor training and planning on their part and they should know this by now.I know he claims to be up there for a RECON of the area, which is a good reason to be up there but you need cover for that. Also you would need a team to be doing that, Not just a single guy. Also looks like he has no radio, which would of came in handy as he was getting shot at and also at the point he got hit.Just sooooo much wrong with this video.They should use this video as a training tool, to show what not to do.This video shows why training is important.
ok as an infantry marine...I'm glad this guy is ok but jesus where on earth did this guy goto infantry school, if you wanted a good example of "All the wrong stuff to do while taking fire" this would be a great example.He's on top of the hill (it appears) which is probably the WORST place to be ever as an infantryman, as it silottues you against the sky, you should always, always, always, be on the military crest so at LEAST your cammo can keep you somewhat hidden against the rocks.In this case he was aware of at least where he was taking fire from, but knowing that he's in an open spot instead of moving to the side or moving back he moves down the hill? With no cover at all?He walked INTO fire?He changes mags while sitting up, he has to dig for his ammo, he actually GIVES a forget what happens to his empty mags.....dude your taking fire, DROP the loving empty one! Put it in your bag later or get some new mags when you get back! forget your empty mags! He takes fire and drops to his knee and returns fire....ok....in some environments yeah that would be a good move, but in this case "What in the forget are you aiming at?" he's just capping off rounds into the UNIVERSE. They KNOW where you are! You don't know where they are, dropping to a knee just gives them extra time to snap in on your dumb ass!I know he says he "came out into the open to draw fire to allow his squad to maneuver" Ok, who the forget does that? Who the fuuuuccckk....moves INTO enemy fire? If you provide good security and you find cover. You will live a lot longer.Jesus, this was frustrating to watch.
