Author Topic: Details make me cringe.  (Read 878 times)

I hate those people who have to waterboard you with every detail of something, like they are listing the already obvious events of something. This annoys me especially in arguments.

At least you don't miss anything.

The things they say are blatantly obvious. Like, if your late the teacher is going to ask why. It's self explanatory for the situation.

Not really. There are tons of reasons why you could be late.

yeah your asian mother might've run over 10 people on the crosswalk and run into the school on the way over.

And the teacher asks you why you are late. It's self explanatory, tell her that there was a lot of traffic, or whatever the reason may be.

exactly.
Like.
-I was making out.
or
-I was making out.
or maybe even
-I was making out.

WHY ARE YOU LATE?

SIT DOWN, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR EXCUSES.

:/

It's not self-explanatory, though. If there are multiple possible reasons, how can you know which it was?

This is an actual issue. I hate it when that happens.

what's funny is you probably respond with why you're late in every little detail.

Hmm. Maybe you shouldn't read Tolkien then.

this
my band teacher does this all the time

"WHY ARE YOU LATE"
"well i was just ___ and i ran to get h-"
"YOU KNOW THAT A GOOD STUDENT NEVER MAKES EXCUSES. GET YOUR INSTRUMENT OUT NOW"

person: :(

It's not self-explanatory, though. If there are multiple possible reasons, how can you know which it was?

It's self explanatory because I'm currently in that situation. IE: Driving in the car and the tire pops off, "Why are you late?" "Tire popped off."

You're talking about minor situations, though.

Think about police investigations! Or writing a best-selling novel, or really anything in life. Details are key.

don't read any of Washington Irving's stories
