Fad topics need to be bannable

and don't reply saying "intelligent discussion" because intelligent or not, it's still a discussion and that's what forums are for.

What is to be said in a topic of such disdain? In this example (http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=209917.0) the majority of people just complain about the topic.

notice you're actually part of the problem, not the solution. the solution is ignoring the topics which you're apparently incapable of.

the solution OP is proposing is to ban anyone who participates in stupid fads though.  he brings up a valid point.  I see what you're saying but OP's idea is pretty good and I hope badspot takes it into consideration.
