my first thought was for myself
my first thought was that I could get a nice buzz from half what I was used too

I like vodka a bit

I've never puked though?

People who drink alcohol all the time are losers, just like drug users. The only time I drink is when I'm going out which is maybe once or twice a month.
Ding

Ive only gotten drunk once years ago and I only find it acceptable at parties

I could see me getting used to the taste of alcohol but I don't like it or want to like it

I sip my dad's bear all the time, but I was one pretty tipsy on half a bottle of ale

Today I tried champagne

"DELICIOUS HEINEKEN BEAR"

Mother is schizophrenic and used to be an alcoholic.  When I was much younger, I would usually be able to witness her forgeted up episodes at night, constantly talking to herself, then she explained to me that "there's a doctor inside of me", and in turn, acted as the "doctor" who controlled and was "helping her bones".  She's no longer an alcoholic and her schizophrenia has become very mild, or, rather, hidden.  I feel so absolutely terrible for her -- she's a fantastic person with a seriously forgeted up problem.  During those nights, though, the muggy scent of alcohol was everywhere.  I became disgusted with it, and given the effects, have absolutely no reason to consume the beverage.  It's an INCREDIBLY stupid and unintelligent luxury to drink alcohol; yes, by this, I'm implying you're somewhat intellectually impaired for not having enough self control to stop yourself from drinking it.  Especially if you're aware of its detriments.

Watch the episode of Taboo on alcohol.  If you still drink, you're pathetic.

I think it depends on who you are some people just drink because they like it and not because they're addicted

and then it's probably fine

Which was addressed.  You lack self control if you choose to destroy your body and put others at risk by doing something you mildly enjoy.

freedom of happiness, not freedom of doing things that amount to good health.

While I understand your position from your experiences, I feel that absolute temperance will likely prevent this.
