i read that they removed the ability to "save"
kind of sucks because i loved to decimate my cities every once in a while while building them up (you know, save game > destroy city > reload game)

i suppose only being able to go forward makes it more difficult though, more challenging.

You could always just find the save file and back it up manually.

The cycle of my cities in SimCity 4

Build a poorly run city and its hell
Destroy
Repeat

My god, this is amazing.

I will stuff a brick house when this game is finished and executed awesomely.

assuming what i read was correct, you can't do this

7) Not being able to save your maps on the hard drive (you will not be able to reload the city to a stage prior to disasters).

As anyone who's played one knows, one of the simplest pleasures of any SimCity game, dating back to the 1989 original, is the consequence-free "What if?" scenario. The kind where you obliterate your city by triggering an apocalyptic wave of fires, earthquakes, tornadoes, and monster attacks, then time-warp it back to pristine condition by loading a saved game. When I asked Lead Producer Kip Katsaelis if the 2013 SimCity would allow that same pleasure in its Glass Box-powered cities, the answer was a simple, disappointing "No." The online connectivity Maxis has built in means that reloading saved games will be impossible, even when no one else has a city in your region.

thats why you then play the single player version. as they just talked about in their recent interview video a few days ago.

of course you cant "reload" things in a multiplayer game, wtf did you guys think. jesus lol

i've been assuming it meant singleplayer-mode :o
though if that is all it meant, then hell dismiss what i said

Are they for sure going to have a singleplayer mode separate from multiplayer?

i dunno if single was announced from the beginning or not. or if its a new thing they discussed in the new vid.
but there is a seperation

Thank god.  I want to get it to be able to play multiplayer with friends.

But at the same time I'll want to be able to maintain singleplayer saves.

filled out a bunch of stuff they wanted to hear for the beta lolol

Well that's fine, I can understand that.  I'm assuming by the lack of stuffstorm, the game won't have a requirement for a constant internet connection or at least there's no information about it yet.  If it requires an internet connection 100% all the time I'm going to be upset, there will be times when I won't have internet.
