I think it's a horrible design choice.

Currently you can't go to Random pictures either.

And not having comments mainly visible can lead to the picture being boring as many people ignore it and don't post.
Sometimes the comments are the funniest places. Or there are some interesting discussion. Or you can learn more about the image.

The lack of a display page is also pretty stuff.
I usually use this to tell how many new images there are.

It's no secret that I've wanted to overhaul the websites' design for some time now. The only thing that was stopping me was lack of vision and direction. Last week, I found both. Today, I am very pleased to unveil a ground-breaking new layout and interface.

In addition to being the loveiest damn interface you'll ever use in your life, this new interface will also help the sites run much faster*.

Protip: you can use the c and v keys to go to the next and previous images.

Let me ask you something. When you're exploring the gallery, what good does a preview image really do? Do you like to see your images before you see your images? Do you like having jokes spoiled by stuffty resized thumbnails? It may feel a little bit strange for the first while, but I believe that in time you will agree that it is superior.

*Because of the minimalistic-nature of the new interface, there are many fewer queries that need to be run for any given page that you would load. For example, each image-page in the slideshow loads extremely fast because it doesn't have to look into the database to find and parse comments & tags, and then render them in html to the screen.

After viewing the news post I'm pretty sure it's because he's dumb. I never had issues with pages loading slowly.

I always liked the New youtube layouts, I hated the first ones, people would customize their channel too much to the point where you could barely read anything.

The New Layouts are much more clean and simple.

Also if anyone here can make greasemonkey scripts can they make one that removes the stupid facebook button.

My complaints about the youtube layout :
When you watch a video in your subscriptions, it shows a "Watched" filter on it.
I cant watch videos on anyone's channel directly.

I like the Watched filter on it because that shows I have already seen it.

If I am correct you can watch peoples videos by clicking on their name on the subscription bar.
