Author Topic: Petition: Allow third party recording tools for YouTube  (Read 901 times)

Apparently Google doesn't like people downloading videos from YouTube because of copyright infringement so they're shutting down every reliable video converter available.

Here's a petition.

so they're going to shut down realplayer

lol good luck with that google

If google didnt do this, couldnt they get sued up the ass with a razorblade cactus?

Weird how it discusses European consumers, but the petition uses a special field for outside the US. Would this even apply to people in the US?

Do you know how difficult it is to record content like YouTube from FRAPS? It isn't for that. If they close FRAPS, they might as well destroy video cameras.

That's not a YouTube video converter. It doesn't record web browsers.
Yes it does, you can select the option for monitoring/recording the desktop and everything on it.

RealPlayer does, however, but it only works for Internet Explorer. You hover your mouse over the video and a little windowlet pops up saying "download".

It even comes with a converter to let you change it to various other audio/video file extensions.

Have you ever used FRAPS? I've had FRAPS for years and year, legitimately. Setting it up to record browser windows and such is an ass and a pain to do. You'd have to be handicapped brain dead to opt for using it to do this.

Having a converter at hand is so much easier than having to record your desktop and crop the video out. You wouldn't be able to get HD videos, either.

listentoyoutube didn't work for me. Yielded the same error as ClipConverter did.
