wacom is almost always the way to go with graphics tablets, but they're fairly expensive
I was lucky enough to receive an intuos4 medium as a gift, but I'm going into the art field and already had tablet experience at the time so for someone who's just starting with digital drawing you'll probably want to go with the simplest one, a
bamboo splashyou'll have to sink $80 into it though so it's up to you, it all depends if you're either A) interested in art as a career or hobby or B) willing to spend the money regardless
below is the first tablet & pen I owned, one of the original bamboos, I got it when I was about 14/15 and even though it's significantly smaller than the splash (seriously I can cover ~95% of the active area with one hand) it served me very well for the years up to the point I graduated to my intuos and got me into drawing digitally
