stop using flaaaash
i'd only use flash with my camera because without it my pictures turn out really blurry. that's why i mainly use super macro for when i'm photographing little things like my figures. not only does it bring out the detail, but the flash defaults to off so i don't have to worry about glare.

if i dont, its REALLY blurry
i have no idea how to work a camera

Okay. Every time somebody takes a picture of a robot toy in some kind of pose i have no loving idea what the pose is because all i see is a pile of wheels and wings and metal-looking stuff. But then the other people viewing the picture know EXACTLY where arms and legs are and whatnot.

How the forget you you know this?

does your camera give you drive mode and exposure settings? i just turn my exposure down to -1/3 and set a 2 second delay, which gives me enough time to steady my hands for the picture.

i only know camera tricks because my mom was in a photography class in college, as well as the photographer for the football team there. it's only natural for her to give me advice if she sees me holding a camera.

I took a class on it.

I still knew how to properly light an area/not use flash before the course, though...

Are you using a macro setting?  You know, a little option that says "for close up images"

It doesn't matter if I use the macro or not, pictures taken without flash are terribly blurry 90% of the time.

Depending on your camera and setup, a lot of people do.

When you're dealing with photos that aren't just "lolol take a picture of anything," but, rather, something like a specific setup, almost everyone does.

I usually take about 100 shots per setup.
