Author Topic: Working Doors!  (Read 42975 times)

Okay, my idea shouldn't conflict with any of the smoothness you want.

To demonstrate what I mean, I present my work of art.

The rounded part, where the door swings on, should be the only part that would ever collide with the frame. The rest should never touch the frame.

Oh, and sorry for the double post, but I was wondering how these doors are spawned. Do you need a brick below it or is it a placeable piece like any other brick? I need to know this so I can make my door ways for my apartment the appropriate size. I don't want to have to come back later and redo them all because it didn't work out.

I've already begun work on an elevator system and a boxing gloves weapon as well.

You need a brick to place a door.  In the screenshot i posted, I used the 1x4f plate.  The door and the 1x4f plate fit within the space of a 1x4x5 brick.

Oh, okay, so I will have to change my frame then.

I worked on something similar for a few days.

The only thing that stopped me was animating the collision mesh.

Attempting to animate the collision mesh?  That doesn't sound like a good use of time.  I don't think I'll be using animations at all, let alone animations of the collision mesh.

How are you going to make it swing without animations?

It's a secret to everyone!
