Author Topic: Brick Generator - Locked until I recode it and fix the rounds.  (Read 13986 times)

This coverage part
What does it do
I can't get what it does
It's always blah:bleh and makes no sense
:c

I had made something like this, minus the printface option and the decent-looking GUI
However, mine auto-packaged it with a datablock file, a name, category, and sub-category. This made it so you could enable/disable it in the add-on list.

Nice!
I kinda wanted something like this.
Does this work in-game?

What do you mean?

the brick, along with a server.cs of your most recent generated brick is created in the directory for you to drop into a .zip along with a description.

you do need to change the Subcategory/category fields of the .cs before release tho, by default its found under Special - Generated.

I would have it create the .zip with the files all set up within, but engine limits make that impossible currently.

How long will we have to wait for Wedges or Ramps or even at least wedge ramps?

So, if you removed all the print stuff, this would generate regular bricks? Everything would be correct?

Assuming I worked out all the bugs.

Good job on the GUI ;o.

Hm, anyway that the Brick Gen could write the created .blb into an existing brick pack updating the server.cs so that the created brick would be ready to use when created?

I know packaging a brick when the .blb and the server.cs are given is easy, but this would cut a few steps out and would be most convenient.

Oh.. well. What about updating a previous .zip?

Not if it was in a zip file.

you spelled ipquarx's name wrong. its Ipquarx. lol

Would it be cool if I made a web service
That
Made a zip containing a packaged version of the result

Or would that be overdoing it.

I remember DrenDran made exactly that.

Bad idea, this is the reason people hated other brick generators, People who don't know how to make addons would make a bunch of bricks that already existed and release them on here with a separate thread for each brick.
