Join the indians and make that bad random loving thing go away through rain dances.

You turn to head back into town to warn the inhabitants, but it seems that they've already awoken from their beds.

And, what's that? ...

:It's the end of the line son.

: You've got to listen to me. You're all in terrible danger.
:All I know is that this maelstrom of evil and duplicity has only one possible culprit. And that's you!

Look at him! See not the badge worn on his jacket!? It's of our sheriff, dead no doubt! Did you pry that from his lifeless body you demon spawn of Satan!?

You come to our town, seeking refuge for the criminal actions of arson! You admitted to the fire in cold blood!

And seeing as you killed our sheriff, being a man of God I take it upon myself to deliver your sentence.

: But, I...
: Let God sort out the evil inside of you. TO THE GALLOWS WITH YOU.

Suddenly, in the distance, the clock tower strikes 8.

BONG.

: Alistair! Stop dis madness dis instant!
: Quiet with you, you black witch! Your dark magic has no place with civilized minds!

BONG.

BONG.

: You hang dis man and you gonna regret it.
: And who are you of authority to tell me!?

BONG.

: Not only are you a woman, but you are a slave's daughter! A witch! A demon!

BONG.

: Alistair I'ma givin' you one more warning, you hang dis man and dis whole town is in a heap a trouble.
: SILENCE.

BONG.

: Alistair!
: I SAID SILENCE!

BONG.

: DO YOU THINK I HAVE NO METTLE? DO YOU THINK I AM A COWARD? NO. MY FATHER WAS JERIMIAH CROCK, AND I AM HIS SON. FEAR THE NAME OF ALISTAIR, FOR I DOTH DO THE LORD'S WORK. GOD IS MY COMMANDER, AND I AM HIS VESSEL!

BONG.

ACT I starts tomorrow!

I guess it's technically tomorrow, I'll get this in now so you guys can think of things while I'm asleep/in class.

By the way, I hope you don't think I'm rushing things. I told you in the old topic that the prologue was going to be short. If Nick had actually done Act I, that adventure might not have died. Oh well. Away we go!

Screaming... someone shouting... someone...

You are dead... you... are dead...

You awaken in a train bounding to God know's where.

You are... you are...

Who are you?

The last thing you remember is faint and you're barely holding onto it.

You check your coat pockets. On you is a a revolver, a journal, and a blank tarot card.

What's that for?

You also seem to be wearing a badge. On further inspection it looks to be that of a US Marshall. You're hoping you didn't steal it, but then, why would you? You're actually pretty sure you are a Marshall, come to think of it. But why are you here? And where is this train going?

And what... is your name... ?

Check the Journal to see if it contains your name.

I'm going to combine the best fitting ones.

Nathan
McGraw

Aka, a should-be country music singer. I LIKE IT.

Check the Journal to see if it contains your name.

It does.

You are Nathan McGraw, US Marshall.

The first (and only) entry into the journal reads as such:

"Assignment #314: Clivesdale County Arsonist.

Asked by the Attorney General start investigation on Clivesdale Arson.

Suspect believed armed. Objective: determine cause of fire, locate suspect.

Wanted: Dead or Alive."

So that clears up some things...

What should you do next?

Try and figure out why you can't remember stuff.

Try and figure out why you can't remember stuff.

You think back to the last thing you can remember...

You're not a man known to cry, but this image is just so... terrifying... a single teardrop swells in your eye.

You do not weep in agony or sadness, but alas, you weep in fear.

What was it that happened to you? Perhaps it's that you choose not to remember.

Figure out where this train is going.
