hey people, i don't know, but...

what about some suggestions? everyone always suggests things when it's clear there's nothing to suggest but when there have to be actual suggestions, nobody ever posts any.

buy affordable items, use charisma to woo someone to your side (or create a companion with the paintbrush?), go to green hill zone

buy affordable items

You walk into a shop.

Tetro: Wait, I don't have any money. Do you have any money, Rectri?
Rectri: Yeah, I have...30 coins.
Squarrior Salesman: Welcome! Can I help you?

List of items:

  • Sky Blue Snow Cap - Just a vanity item, but it makes you look insanely classy. Costs 10 coins.
  • Square Donut - Restores a bit of your energy when damaged. Costs 5 coins.
  • FlameBomb - Throw it at your enemy to damage + ignite them. Throw it somewhere close to your enemy to ignite their entire field. Costs 15 coins.
  • Magic Candy - Eat to clear status effects. And that means ALL status effects. Also positive ones. Costs 20 coins.
  • Bomb - Throw it at your enemy to damage them. Costs 10 coins.

What will you buy, if anything?

buy 3 sky blue snow caps

2 square doughnuts, and a bomb
We should save money

towering pillar of blue snowcaps
fire bomb, donut and hat

You buy these items and you walk out of the store. It seems that it's really time to leave the village now.
But honestly...that snow cap IS classy, as the description said. They did most certainly not lie about that.

After a little while, you reach the "border".

The time has come! You are in Mineral Meadows, looking for the Ruby Flower.

You can see tons of hills, pits and a large river. Where do you start to look?

Look down nearest pit.

Flip world into 3rd Dimension

Flip world into 3rd Dimension
...my god, you thought of this too?

get yourself to the top of a hill and have a look around

maybe get a map going in your mind

i spent my day doing fun stuff completely irrelevant to this adventure

and while i did all that fun stuff i thought up a great combat system
stay tuned!

Yeah, apparently all hills are rectangular.
That was an unnecessarily long climb, as there's absolutely nothing on the top.

???: RAAAHH!

Bursting out of the ground comes everyone's favorite little bastard villain...

(also yeah i redesigned stracks because he just looked...i dunno, awkward with those puffy pants)

Stracks: I'M BACK, FOR REVENGE!

Rectri: Oh god no. You again?

Stracks: I have trained! I have fought! I have become stronger in the short time I left you two! Now you shall pay for earlier!

Battle start!

Alright, here's an explanation of the battle system.

If you commence combat with an enemy, you enter a 4x6 panel field. Each turn, you may move one panel, or attack. You may move diagonally. You may only attack horizontally, not vertically. That means that if an enemy is one panel above you, you cannot attack it. You need to move back and then move up to attack it.

Some items like the Flame Bomb have an effect on panels. Flame Bomb ignites a 3x3 field around the landing spot, even if it lands on an enemy. The fire will stay there until someone walks into it, or until two turns have passed. Some items and sometimes even attacks can break panels and will make them impossible to access unless you are a floating being(example: Corvas) Tetro has the ability to restore all of them with the Magic Paintbrush but it takes up one turn. There are a lot more effects but they haven't been discovered yet. We'll get there eventually.

Tetro's only moves so far are:

Ice Shard - Fires an ice shard towards an enemy.
Ice Block - Creates an ice block right in front of you to block enemy attacks, but only once. Attacks that reach beyond the ice block will not be blocked.

Tetro's HP is 10, Stracks' HP also is.

So what is your first move?

So it's battle network style, huh?
Move down a space.
