Author Topic: Seems like the Xbox finally got a web browser.  (Read 1504 times)

And it's Microsoft's own browser: Internet Explorer.
I checked the user agent and it says it's IE9 (on Windows 7).

Do you need gold to use it?

I've never understood console-based browsers

chances are you're at home with internet access while using them, so why not just hop on the computer instead and not have to deal with obnoxious load times, annoying screen-based typing, and inability to load plugins

granted the last time I used a console browser was on the wii so maybe it's changed

the psvita browser can'lt copy img urls or normal urls, but its alright

Consoles trying to be PCs
How adorable!

Personal computers are the best consoles :)

I think it's kinda a rip off with all the gold stuff.
It's really expensive if you add up all the times you have bought it.

Even my phone can do that, and it's got Steam too. :V

Gold membership should give members excusive offers (not 2MS point off on games nobody likes) and features like this. Silvers should be able to use online play and use apps that require a subscription like sky or netflix

I pay £40 a year for this service only to be given $0.25 a year as a thanks. Gaming is dying. Its about money, noy story telling or an art form. Pretty much all games have sequels. They usually suck as the first game is normally focused on story and sequels corrupt dev. minds to only think of money. There are virtually no games that dont have sequels, and they are recent releases that havent been given a chance

forget gaming nowadays, it makes me sick

console gaming*

it's why I haven't turned on any of my consoles in the last year+, let alone actually get a new game for them, I'm gonna take a wild guess that my last console game purchase was Mario Kart Wii around the time it was released

a majority of the fun in many recent games is online play but to do that you have to pay out the ass for a membership after shelling out for your $60 game while PC gamers are collecting at least 10 games for the same price with no additional cost to play online (I don't count internet costs because it's a standard household utility these days)

the only advantage to console gaming is you don't have to upgrade your components every 1-2 years to keep up with the rising technology

companies with consoles realize all this too which is why they're clambering around to make their consoles more like computers

It's not just consoles, although they are the major problem. Im getting a gaming pc at christmas but i'm still keeping my xbox because i still want to play with friends and if i do get rid of it, i will feel that i wasted my time playing all of my games since all my data will be gone

Microsoft needs to wake the forget up and listen to the people. However, microsoft isnt the only company that does this. As time goes by more and more, companies just dont listen to the customers and it pisses me off. Google (with youtube) and Facebook are the worst

Pile all the stuff you want on it, Microsoft, it's still can't do half as much as a brand new PC from 1995.
