Author Topic: Argue over the superior religion / belief  (Read 18288 times)

10 nice phrases does not mean the Bible positively influenced human history. Why don't we go over the other quotes in the Bible? Like this one?

It also has nothing to do with science in the first place.

The 10 phrases were about the teachings of Christ. As I have stated before, the Bible has changed hands through many scribes, and I'm not sure if your even referencing the King James Bible.

Then point them out to me as clearly as I am able to understand because of my low IQ.

It is a known fact that religion has hindered science throughout history. For example: Catholic Church punished Galileo for going against the Church's teachings of a geocentric universe (everything revolves around the Earth).

The Catholic church was the very foundation upon which European civilization was built upon. With out no Catholic church, no European civilization.

This is a load of stuff.
Civilization does not depend on religion to be formed.

Right, thats why we should bring out concrete proof, facts, points, etc about our beliefs instead of just saying our way is better and calling the other side an idiot.
Wrong again. Proof or no proof, people believe in things for a reason. Your opinion won't be changed, neither will mine. Nobodys opinion will be changed.

First off what the forget science versus religion? What is going on.
Look, religion was created to explain stuff that couldn't be explained, like the weather, the sun, creation, etc. Science explains that stuff BETTER. We all know that the earth was not created in seven days and yet people still believe that because they can, even though there's evidence against it. There is literally no reason to believe in religion other than to have some kind of thing to believe in, and trying to say that religion - especially any kind of thing that's creationism (this meaning "earth was created like 8000 years ago") because it's loving stupid and there's literally enough evidence to kick it off a cliff and into the nearest black hole - is legitimately something you should believe in while shunning out science is dumb because science has already proven that thunderstorms are not Zeus slamming his thunderbolt into the ground, they're natural formations of clouds and rain that release a stuffload of electricity.

You say that our science is so advance that we nearly understand everything, and yet we only know 2.5% of all matter in the universe.

We don't understand everything, that is obvious. But the point still stands that we understand enough to say that, well thunderstorms aren't caused by Zeus dropping his thunderbolt, the earth wasn't created in seven days, and the earth isn't flat. All things that previous civilizations believed, and with creationism, still believe.

Dude what concrete proof do you have.

In other news Obama yeeee

I used to believe in god.

Once again because of one example of a bad act of the Catholic church, you beleive all they have done is bad. Thats just absurd.

Here is a good read up of the relationship between the Catholic church, education, and the sciences.

I know this isn't taught in schools, but you must know that after the decline of the Roman empire, the Catholic church took its place in Europe.

And that is your opinion.

And that is your opinion.

And it is my opinion that you are handicapped

And who are you to say that the Earth was not created in 7 days? (note, not my belief). Are you and expert on the laws of the universe? We only know 2.5% of all physical matter in the Universe and yet you say you know for sure that the earth was not created in 7 days. If your wondering about my concrete proof, just reread my previous posts.

And it is my opinion that you are handicapped

Allrighty then.

>Romney Vs Obama
Gary Johnson

And who are you to say that the Earth was not created in 7 days?

Because there is an insane amount of evidence that says otherwise.

We only know 2.5% of all physical matter in the Universe

Stop bringing up irrelevant bullstuff

Now tht you guys know the facts about how this argument is stupid and pointless and will have no resolution or upside,
why are you still arguing?

I thought this was politics.

Because there is an insane amount of evidence that says otherwise.

Stop bringing up that irrelevant bullstuff

Your right, it is completly irrelevant that our scientific knowledge of the universe is puny.

Your right, it is completly irrelevant that our scientific knowledge of the universe is puny.

Still doesn't mean we're wrong.

Now tht you guys know the facts about how this argument is stupid and pointless and will have no resolution or upside,
why are you still arguing?

You're right. This argument isn't going anywhere.

I'm done.
