Gender is not defined by what genitalia you possess. Your species is defined by what type of body structure, brain structure, and many other factors. It's completely different.

The first definition, which you for some reason went ahead and posted alongside the secondary definitions, blatantly refers to gender as love, which wikipedia defines as the following:

The second definition, the one you bolded, refers to things like "gender barriers" and "gender roles."
