Author Topic: Getting a used 2000 Toyota Celica GT  (Read 3415 times)

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. This is a car with 225k miles. Do you realize how many this is? Unless the engine is in pristine condition and has had a full checkup done on it, I wouldn't invest a single penny in it. I can call right now that you're going to spend more money on repairs on that thing within the next 3 years than you did on it initially. this is a horrible loving idea.

Looks nice, but might wanna get the engine checked out. 225,000 miles is quite a bit (even though my dad's car has like I dunno 500,000 I guess not sure)

Yep. If the clutch has never had work on it, it'll fail within the next 6 blocks.

or if it has a turbo, or if it was ever owned by a douchebag kid. That's what really turned me off from buying a used car. Anything within my price range was owned by a kid that probably beat the stuff out of it and had a ton of miles. For 3500 I am pretty much rebuilding the entire truck and its gonna ride so nice. Also it's nice to know everything that had been changed in it. We found out when tearing into the engine to remove it some idiot duct taped the negative wire of the battery after it was cut. Absolutely no splicing

Lmfao. I'm actually in the process of fixing up an older car. It's a 1994 BMW 740iL. Most of the work is done, it just needs a new catalytic converter and tires. I'm having trouble finding an original cc, and I'm trying to avoid the dealer -.-

There needs to be some interior work done, nothing is broken or anything. Just the leather has basic wear and tear and sun fading. I'm trying to restore the leather as opposed to having it get redone. All of the upholstery is in pristine condition though. I want to put a touch screen nav in it as well, but that'll run me around 1,200. And I've got better stuff to spend that money on, haha.

My truck has a catalytic converter shell just bolted on. It does absolutely nothing. I'm happy I don't have to any addmision test or else this truck would fail pretty hard

lmfao. you're going to have to once you have to update the vehicles registry...unless your state doesn't require emissions..?

-It wasn't owned by someone that beat it to hell.
-Of course I'm going to get it's engine and everything checked at 225,000 miles
-I'm prepared for repairs.
-It's automatic.

i always thought the Celica was loving rad

God damnit. People are too anxious to get their own car. You're better off waiting and not getting a broke brother car. Save money for 6 months. Get a car for like 2k more. ???. Profit!

forgetin' kids.

Prepare for some monday to steal it :D
