Looking For a Way To Hook Up Console to Monitor, Would This Work?

I'm going to hook up a Xbox 360 to my extra monitor.  Would this work?  If not, recommend me one please.

this, even if it's expensive.  also i don't know what the forget there are audio outputs going into a VGA cable for, VGA does not handle audio.

You probably want a DVI to HDMI converter and an HDMI cable. Then you would need to hook up speakers since DVI can't handle audio.

VGA from xbox to monitor, and then the audio jack into external speakers. Mind you the chord for the audio is extremely small, I had to get an extension thingy in order for it to reach.

But my monitor doesn't have HDMI spots.
