Most kids only know of the Ak47 and think every Russian/Soviet firearm is called that. Speaking of the Mosin Nagant, I think I saw one at Big 5. I would take an M1 Garand over a Mosin Nagant, but that's just me. If I had a choice of a Weapon that fired something in the 5mm range it would be the Mini-Ruger 14.

The M1 is superior to the Mosin, but yes, you did see one at Big 5, that's where I saw mine. The big 5 in 5 points plaza. i saw one with a scope, loving 650 doll hairs. forget that.

I would love to buy an AR-15 or an akm but its way to risky to even own them in California. even if you have in in a legal configuration if a cop forgets up and arrests you for possession of an assault weapon you could be out a lot of money defending yourself in court. I might get a mosin nagant till I can leave this state.

The Mosin has less moving parts though, it should be more accurate.

It's old and russia has moved on to less recoilish rifles like the Ak74 and the Ak107.

By the way this is the Mini-30. It fires the same round as the AK47/AKM and its cheaper.

Although I still respect the AK47.

AK models are overrated, I prefer the VSS Vintorez, AS VAL and OC-14-4A 'Groza-4'.
Gotta love that 9x39mm subsonic round, unless we're talking about the AN-94 because that is a very nice assault-rifle as well

I myself would prefer a PPSh, it's basically a SMG/LMG crammed into an assault rifle. Not as balanced as the AK though.

What? The PPSh wasn't an assault-rifle it was an SMG, all Russian assault-rifle designs during WWII were turned down in favour of easily-made SMG's
