Kurt Vonnegut's best book. It's about a young man who comes unstuck in time while fighting in WWII, then sees his life before and after the war, as well as his death. He meets his hero and is abducted by 4D aliens who are very friendly and let him live in a zoo on their planet. They give him a beautiful mate and they have a child, then he is sent back home. He teaches humans about the true meaning of time before being assassinated by an old war enemy.

10x better than most stuff people will recommend.

1984 by George Orwell

Read it, it's considered one of the more influential books of the past century, and, without spoiling anything, it will change your views on politics.

The Maze Runner is really good, if you prefer something with a bit more action in it.
