Only the American version says "or aluminum" at the top, and all of the articles use "aluminium" as standard.

So what? That's how it's spelled in American English, so that's how it's pronounced in American English.

It says 'or colour', so by your logic, British English is wrong and American English is the standard.

Colour and color is just a spelling difference though, and I never said anything was wrong.
I just personally wouldn't use "aluminum" since nobody but Americans seem to use it and it sounds like the easy version of the longer word.
