Man, makes a change to hear about someone who didn't die because of something they did to themselves, makes one hell of a change.
This is probably the first time I've given my condolences for a death I heard about on the internet.

kidney failure is actually a common sports injury. where an impact can damage 0ne for good.
but that still raises the question, did he still have his 2nd?
It doesn't matter if he had his 2nd kidney or not, he hemorrhaged to death. basically, he bled to death internally, which IMO is the most painful way to go.
I have sever kidney issues too and I've roughed around a lot. I just find it very very strange. Maybe something inside him broke beforehand and just took a while.
you might have mechanical kidney problems while he might have had structural problems. My guess is that the kid got hit in the kidney, his kidney was thin and weak and so it popped. They managed to stabilize him at the hospital but released him without properly making sure his kidney was actually strong enough, so it began bleeding again when he moved wrong or something, causing him to slowly bleed to death.
