It keeps doing that and it annoys me like hell.
Can someone please tell me how to fix it?

No its Google chrome. l pinned the one on the left and when I click on it a new one pops up next to it.

i was talking to yosher but, google chrome doesn't do that for me

I can't stand having stuff pinned to the taskbar. I keep everything in the start menu, it looks neater.

Do you click on the pinned icon to open Chrome or use a different shortcut? Try making a new shortcut onto your taskbar with chrome.exe

The bar has shortcuts and open windows displayed.
It does not show that the shortcut itself is in use.
