Author Topic: My review of Windows 8!  (Read 900 times)

Excellent job Microsoft. Windows 8 is simply amazing. I love it.

Windows 8 features the awesome Start menu which gives you access to your desktop, music, games, apps and more. The GUI is extremely polished and it is overall more user friendly. Plus it is much faster than 7.

And yes, it is compatible with Blockland, although the launcher is a little slower. Be sure you have your key though, because installing 8 can mess up your key.dat which happened to me for a second.

However, the installation process is slow and tedious. Users of Dolby Home Theater and Advanced Audio will be without it until Dolby makes a driver compatible with the operating system. Also, for now you might not be able to change the MIDI driver you want to use.

Overall, I give Windows 8 9.5/10!

but what if that's because you haven't actually downloaded all of the files yet, and it has to go through and download/write them all? that would take slower, right?

otherwise i personally haven't noticed any sort of speed decrease.

I agree with this.

My audio drivers are a bit glitchy, but in general it works flawlessly.

Nah, I have all the files.

All I want in my PC is a standard Desktop. Getting 8 just to have it feel like 7 is stupid.
Ill stay with 7 till it becomes a problem.

I tried it, I found it hard to navigate, I'm sticking with 7, but I did like the concept at first.

Windows 8 is ok.

Windows 8 features the horrific Start menu which gives you a touch-screen interface on your computer. The GUI is overly simplistic as it's identical to the Windows 7 GUI except without transparency settings and it is more user friendly to the point of insulting. Plus it is much faster than 7.

Fixed, and I give Windows 8 7.8/10.

If you don't like the touch-screen interface, don't use it.
If they changed the look of the desktop and stuff you would have complained anyway.
I don't see how user friendly interface is something to be mad about.

Modern UI, people. Not "Metro" or "Start menu"
