Sandy started for most places. They predict 10s of millions will go without power for a while. I bought $200 in gas to last me a week, plus some non-perishables.
The hurricane center decided to not issue hurricane watches or warnings even though it has the power of one.
This means those of you without hurricane coverage in your insurance should be able to claim storm damage if you have that.  

Tip: Wrapping frozen stuff in newspaper can keep it frozen in the freezer for 6 days or longer! Just be sure to keep the door closed at all times.
