Author Topic: Adding nodes to a model so as to change its color  (Read 936 times)

I'm making a Future Tech mod, part of which includes shield generators. So, I "made" my first shape in Blender - a sphere. Which I managed to export successfully.

However, it has no textures, meaning it's both sheer white and totally unrecolorable. How do I fix this?

A "node" is just another name for "group". To color the nodes use setNodeColor("GroupName","1 1 1 1")

Put it in terms that a person who has never used Blender can understand.

Because that's my level of experience.

I suppose my question isn't so much about nodes, as I'm just going to use '%shape.setNodeColor("ALL");' to change the color of the object in question. Unless I'm sorely mistaken, the re-colorable areas are ones with a texture called "blank". So, what I ought to be asking is, how do I export textures from Blender to accomplish this?

I see you didn't search: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=157886.0#post_materials
Then you can use colorshift to color the blank parts. As for node based coloring, have separate objects and give them unique names.

Don't have 2.5 and I'm too lazy to have two versions and distinguish between the two. Surely there's a way to assign materials in 2.49.

Indeed there is. YouTube Blender 2.49 materials.
