Author Topic: Blocked From School  (Read 5823 times)

Set up your own proxy at home.

The filters are almost always server-side, not client-side, changing your browser does nothing.

Not at my school. The filter is some stupid program that only works with internet explorer. And the school admins have oh so cleverly blocked processes with the name of 'firefox.exe' or 'opera.exe' from opening. So you just rename them, instant win.

How would you go on the internet?

Plug it back in after everything's booted, works on our comps.

Get a USB drive and put Firefox on it.

I do that and it still blocks it. All server side. You should be able to still play blockland single player before they decide to block installs  :cookieMonster:

If it is the new IE, click that little gear in the courner. DISABLE EVERYTHING THERE!

You will then be able to go anywhere minus the pr0n sites.

Also you can get computer rights revoked if cought so USE AT OWN RISK

My school system wont block this site as I am the only one who goes on it  :cookieMonster:

Use the IP address I provided.  I'm impressed if they block both domain and IP.  My office only blocks domains.

You can also convert that into hexadecimal.

1). now im only going to be on for half the time iv been on last year
2). Anyone else got the same results?
1). This is a problem because?
2). No, because I'm not stupid enough to try it when it isn't crucial.

While I applaud you for liking BL forums so much that you wish to view them in school, I must say I despise you so much more.

Why?

Because its fools like you who try to break the system to go to forums and their favourite sights sites or play games that ruin it for everyone else. Not saying I have never played a game on a school comp...but because of all the crap you and others around the nation do, our IT policies are so strict that they inhibit actual work.

Sadly its another case where the innocent get punished while the wrongdoers carry on. Any blocks or systems they put in place can usually be bypassed by those wrongdoers however those that want to visit ligitimate sites for good reasons often get stopped by the very countermeasures that are meant to stop the wrongdoers.

My school has become so strict on IT policy that the installation of any software is prohibited and blocked on all levels and you can't DL anything. Huge waves of sites are blocked based on broad keywords and other restrictive measures.

You have no reason to go on BL or other forums during school, theres plenty of time to do so at home. Don't ruin what little IT priveleges we have by bringing about more securtiy measures.

I hate the little friends who punch and kick and tear the computers apart at school, it really does ruin it for the people who need them the most.

I hate when you're good on computers and you're learning a new program. Especially when the twatt next to you tells you how to do something without you asking, then every time you see them they say "I tought you how to do watever!"

haha My school blocks nothing except research  :cookieMonster:
I was on blockland forums last year my teacher comes up when I was looking in the gallery and shes like "What game is that?" Then I says to her I says "Blockland."
Teacher reply's  "cool"

You know if the school blocked blockland.us he cant hear anything we say...
