What I don't get is why people stock up on guns, bullets, and pershiable food or food that requires an electric heat source. First of all bullets don't magically grown on trees, so you would need a metal mine and knowledge of how to make primers and shell casing. You would need electricity to heat food up like frozen tv dinner or burrito. Otherwise tons of firewood or charcoal for a camp fire to cook canned food or hunted game. Salt for preservation, so lots of jerky. Eventually your supply of twinkies and mres will run out, plus junk food and food in stores will go bad eventually. Also if you want crops you will need a large amount of water. Wells get empty as well.
