Author Topic: Techs of Blockland, How would I recover contact details from a WinXP netbook?  (Read 448 times)

It's an old HP/Compaq Mini 110 netbook. We found it at the dump, but it was still turned on - still running, with a broken screen. We brought it home (YES WE "STOLE" IT OH GOODNESS OH GOSH) and hooked it up to an external monitor, only to find it belongs to someone named Irene, and she's been to Tokyo. Whoa.

Well, how would I be able to find any contact details so I can tell this woman I have her laptop, and ask her if she needs anything backed up and taken to her? Or more or less, spend the $42 and fix her screen so she can have her little netbook back?

I've taken the hard drive out and I'm navigating through it on my desktop with an adapter.

Irene was murdered.

The murderer threw the laptop in the dump hoping it'd be destroyed.

A hobo named Mack was picking through the trash looking for dinner, only to find evidence of poor Irene who was killed while visiting from Tokyo.

it was at the dump

i don't think she wants it

It was at the dump because the screen was broken.

It still has data on it. It has photos and diaries about going to Tokyo.

I need to know for sure that this woman doesn't need this stuff.

well i guess that's nice of you :P good luck lol.

But no seriously if it was turned on that is really forgeted up, unless it accidentally got knocked on.

Screen would be smashed if it was thrown about.

CONSPRIACY

I found the guy who owns it. Excellent. Lockiingg

As it turns out the guy who threw it away is a Windows app developer who works for Lakeridge Health. Neat.
