If I jailedbroke it tethered, and I never let the battery die, I wouldn't have problems with re-jailbreaking?
I'm still scared to but I really want to, gah.
If you let the battery die well it screws up yeah

Mines jail broken, I have an iPhone 4 with Siri and nothing has gone wrong. IF you manage to forget up somehow just restore it via iTunes
(I'm on iOS 6 btw)
Ye do it.

Also to the above post if you do have to reboot its fine just safari and the mail app don't work. To fix it you just boot your phone with your computer.

Again, it doesn't screw it up.
There's an option in RedSn0w that let's you reboot it jailbroken in the case that it does die.

How do I restore via iTunes?
I'm about to do it once this ipsw is done downloading.
I hope it works..

Wait why are you downloading that? Just download resdsn0w it's all you need.

You just plug your iPhone or iPod to your computer and go to iTunes click your device and click restore.

When you're going to click restore, hold shift (or control, I forgot). Then select the ipsw.

One thing that was concerning for me is that ordinary backup reverting doesn't delete Cydia, it just breaks it. I had to wipe my iPod and beat JellyCar all over again.

Oh I see what you're doing now, never mind.

No, you need more than you usually would to get it to work with iOS 6.
I needed to download the update onto my computer (pretty sure that's the IPSW thing) and use that to use Redsn0w on iOS 6, then use something completely different to get Cydia.

i've wasted that whole minute

Is ifile free? I heard that's what allows you to see basic program files like save data. That's the main reason I tried jailbreaking.

I started the process and now I see a pineapple running.
Is it supposed to be like this lol
(there's a loading bar and it says moving applications)

yes you did it right

What exactly is jailbreaking and is it illegal?
