Blockland would be better with maps back.

I convinced 6 friends to play Blockland with me together, and they were going to buy it.

They were about to buy it when they found out the maps were deleted. They said, "Are you kidding me? Building on a stupid slate? I am not buying it."

Badspot, thats 120 dollars flying away from you. I really wish the maps were back.

No matter how fun maps were, they will not come back. Their deletion has moved Blockland towards the future. Badspot may start actually getting more sales now that Blockland has some slightly better graphics, although it does still need work.

Maps and terrain were fun, but the same effect can still be attained with modular terrain bricks. Removing maps has opened the game up to new and better possibilities that were not available to players before. Hopefully severs will start reflecting this change.

In response to maps being ugly and stupid; yes, they were. However, they could be made to look nice and serve virtually any purpose. It was also much easier to make good looking, massive interiors of cities etc. with maps. I'm not saying I disapprove of their deletion, but they did allow for much creativity. I do hope that we will see default terrain bricks and other essential features added in the future.
