Author Topic: Guess who just got their Raspberry Pi after waiting 3 weeks :D  (Read 1665 times)

I did!
It's loving AWESOMEEE. So far I have:
1) Given it it's own power supply, aka my old phone's charger.
2) Plugged in a keyboard that I now realized has USB slots
3) Put it in a MASSIVE loving CASE that is cherry red.
4) Took 20 pictures of it and decided only 5 of them were worth keeping
5) Made a localhostr uploader in python removed it's extension and dropped it into my /usr/bin, which is pretty cool because now all I do is in console "localhostr " then drag the file into it and it poops out a bunch of stuff that is helpful. It even gives me the link to different qualities of the picture if I upload a picture. It's pretty neat buttttt I dont know if it would work for Windows users, but if your on a Linux/Mac and want it, ill send you the file and give you instructions on how to use it(cough open it in a file opening thing change email/password save and drag into /usr/bin, and if someone can tell me if curl is a command on Windows that'd also be cool b/c thats what this uses).
6) Uploaded 5 pictures of it.

SOOOOOOOOOooooo here are the pictures.

It's actual purpose is for teaching kids to program, it's most supported in Python.
Thats why I bought it, one of my favorite languages is...
PYTHON :D
It could be used to run a server, but I doubt thats a good idea. The model B (I have) has 512MB of RAM and a stock processor of 600MHz (or 700 I forget, but you can overclock, some people got it up to 1GHz fine

... your joking right?
What kind of server would you run from it first of all lol? The only one I could imagine is some kind of cheap python server.

News update
Overclocking is as easy as changing the 700 to 800+ in config.txt, and since mine is getting only a bit warm, Im considering clocking up to 800 or 900. Depending on how intense that is I will determine if I will clock to 1000.

overclock to ten thousand and see what kind of explosion it makes.

woah didn't know these existed

i want one now

I had Nullable use mine through SSH. He did scary things to me.

Overclocked to 1000MHz (1GHz)
Totally loving worth it. It goes so much faster and it's still in warranty (1GHz max)
It's not even hot right now. I haen't been doing much just letting it idle, opening IDLE3 up every so often to see how it does
its working well and theres no problems

TURBO PI!

Can Half life run on a raspberry Pi?

so a raspberry pi is just a tiny computer thing?

cans i eat et?

EDIT: You have a Mac keyboard with a Linux? LOL.
