there are a few people id prolly voice chat with because they actually understand how to be relatively polite but i dont think any of them want to hear dogs barking and tv

whats this have to do with the loudness of my room

this has become increasingly annoying
my computer is in the livingroom for safety reasons, and the livingroom is probably the noisiest, busiest room in the house
so whenever im trying to listen to music all i hear is the tv (which is pretty much right behind me) or my dog barking or my mom talking
also its really difficult to type something coherent when you cant focus

anyone else have a problem like this

I used to have my comp in some room of the house that the previous owner built and probably had no building experience because the walls are extremely thin and there's like no insulation
so basically the room gets hot in the summer, cold in the winter
and when it rains, you can hear every single goddamn drop pounding against the walls and ceiling, even when it doesn't rain very hard
like if i have my earbuds in (which block out quite a bit of sound, mind you) and i'm playing some game
I can't even hear guns firing over the goddamn rain

idk I don't like using my microphone when other people are home because I don't want my family eavesdropping on me
I'm also kinda afraid I might swear and someone will hear me because I don't swear at all near my family members

it sounds kinda justified to me, if the first time you actually tried using voice chat everyone trolled you, would you be super-encouraged to try again
