Recently, the left earcup on my Razer Cacharias headset died after 2 years of service in my care. The wiring was for the most part in pristine condition, save for a kink or two near the volume control. I was surprised to hear that this was about the right period of time for the left earcup to die on this headset, with the right earcup following shortly after (approx. 3 months).
So now I'm looking for a new one to get for Christmas. I was considering
the Astro A50s, but the reviews are mixed and I wanted feedback from you guys as to what headset I should get.
A few guidelines:
- Budget is $300
- I need these to last me a while, at least two years.
- Wired is fine, but wireless is preferred.
- After the Cacharias died on me only after two years in pristine condition, no Razer products.
- A mic is required.
