Author Topic: Model trains  (Read 2519 times)

It seems like a dying hobby and I was curious weather any of you do it or not. I personally have a Board where I run vintage Ameican Flyer (or "S" Guage) trains from the 50's (AC Gilbert) Are there any Model railroaders out there, or has the hobby died off.

oh god all of my nostalgia is in model trains

I still have an O-guage steam loco from RailKing. Sadly something screwed up inside and it doesn't work. :(

I also have some more recent HO-scale stuff too, and I drag it out and play with it every now and then.

this needs to be discussed more

i have massive amount of lego train tracks. the REAL ones with the metal lining for the 12v wall plug, electric sets.
you kids and your new age lego plastic battery powered stuff are missing out.

I love model trains, I always set up a train village with my Dad every Christmas. c:

I collected the stuff out of HO scales trains when I was a kid. I made huge tracks around the christmas tree, and even used our dinner table once.
you could say that model trains were my

I think I have a Lionel Santa Fe train set.

It even has a working smoke stack.

HO is perfect because you don't have to lug the loving things out of huge containers every time you want to play with them.

I run my trains on a permanate layout so this is not a problem for me

Riding off the rails on a Swayze Train

I miss my old track :c
It was one of those OLD OLD ones with the metal tracks that had 1 track that had a controller attached to it and with that you would change its speed.
I also had a train that emmited smoke :o

Wait.. Hol-ee-schitt I can get a model train on my next visit to the last town I lived in!

In all seriousness though, I was obsessed with trains for the first few years of my life. Then I watched a godawful TV show that ruined it forever for me.
